In Delhi University, from September 15, practical lab sessions of final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate programs can be held in the college or department. In an order issued on Monday, the university said that it is optional for the students to come to the university or college and it is for them to decide whether they want to come to the college or not. It has also been said in the order that the teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges/departments/centres should get both doses of Kovid vaccines administered at the earliest.

According to the order, all the students coming to the college or department must get at least one dose of the vaccine. It states that it is necessary for students living in hostels to get both doses of the Kovid vaccine and ensure that the student has received at least the first dose of the vaccine.

As per the order, theory classes of all undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be conducted online till further notice. The order states that if the seating arrangement in the library is not as per the COVID protocol, books may be issued to the students on regular basis.

It states that the College/Department/Centre may also consider giving a date and time in advance to the student to visit the library. The order says that practical classes for the final years of undergraduate and postgraduate students and such activities may be permitted to be conducted offline, i.e. in a college, department or center, from September 15, but not within the premises, laboratory or hall. Only 50 percent of the students of the capacity will be allowed admission. It states that practical and practical work is allowed only in the selected and committee numbers required for the semester. The attendance of the students is not mandatory here.

DU's acting vice-chancellor PC Joshi had said on Wednesday that the university would open in a phased manner, as the safety of students is the priority. Following the improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the national capital, the Delhi government had announced the opening of schools, colleges and coaching centers for classes IX to XII from September 1.
