Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) today, September 9. The NIRF India Ranking lists the top universities and colleges in India. NIRF India Ranking 2021 will be announced for 10 categories- University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement) and Law.

The NIRF India ranking parameters and the weighted averages adopted to derive the rankings are different for all categories. The broad categories adopted to rank colleges, universities and institutions include teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and peer perception.

The Education Ministry has said in its social media handle post that, "Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release the new ranking of Indian educational institutions supported by NIRF 2021 at 12 noon on September 9."

These institutes got place in NIRF Ranking 2020

Last year in the NIRF Rankings 2020, IIT Madras was ranked as the best institute in the overall and engineering categories. In the University category, IISc Bangalore was ranked first and Jawaharlal Nehru University was ranked second, while Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences as Best Dental College, AIIMS Delhi as Best Medical College, NLSIU Bangalore as Best Law Institute Was. While IIM Ahmedabad was the top in Management category and IIT Kharagpur was the best in Architecture category.
