The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched 'CBSE Reading Mission' 2021-23 at 3 PM today to promote reading literacy among students. According to a CBSE statement, "CBSE Reading Mission 2021-23, is a two-year initiative to encourage students to read and engage actively with books. CBSE Chairman Manoj Ahuja launched the mission today at 3 pm The program also included a webinar of teachers on the culture of reading in schools.

"CBSE in partnership with @pbstoryweaver and @csf_india is extremely happy to announce the launch of #CBSEReadingMission as a two year initiative to promote reading literacy," CBSE posted on the official website.

Reading material will be available to more than 25 thousand affiliated schools

Recently in an official statement it was said that CBSE Reading Mission 2021-23 will encourage students to read books and enhance their critical ability to read with comprehension. Let us inform that CBSE will provide quality-reading material in both Hindi and English to more than 25 thousand affiliated schools. The reading material will be suitable for the students of class 1 to 8.

Initiatives taken under the implementation of NEP 2020

This initiative has been taken under the vision of implementing the National Education Policy 2020. CBSE will also conduct enriching activities which will help the students to build their language skills. CBSE has partnered with Pratham Books Story Weaver and Central Square Foundation to launch this mission.
