Bihar: Must eat jimmikand vegetable on Diwali night

Religion Desk: In Bihar, it is customary to eat jimmikand on the night of Diwali. In most of the homes, vegetable of ol i.e. yamikand is made. According to religious beliefs, eating jimmikand vegetable on the night of Diwali brings happiness in a person's life.

The festival of Diwali and the vegetable of suran is associated with the progress and prosperity of human beings. It is said that on Diwali, Maa Lakshmi is offered kheer made from makhana and it is consumed as prasad. After this, the people of the house eat the vegetable of jimmikand.

How to make jimmikand vegetable: First of all, wash and clean jimmikand and cut it into small pieces. After this, make a paste of onion, ginger and green chili, tomato.

Heat oil in a pan and sieve the jimikand pieces. Now add onion paste and fry till it turns brown. After this add tomato paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chili powder, garam masala and fry the spices.

After this, mix the pieces of jimmikand and add water, salt. Now cook it on low flame. Your vegetable will be ready.
