The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has made several changes in the eligibility criteria for CAT 2021. According to the notification issued for CAT 2021, candidates applying for the exam must be a graduate from a recognized university with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. At the same time, 45% has been fixed for SC / ST / PWD candidates.

Decision taken due to corona pandemic

The examination committee has given various relaxations in the eligibility criteria for CAT 2021 in view of the corona pandemic across the country. Actually, the examination committee had received many questions from candidates with promotion/pass certification issued in lieu of marksheets during the pandemic. Keeping all these things in mind, the committee decided to revise the eligibility criteria for CAT 2021.

CAT 2021 Eligibility for Final Year Candidates

Instead of “Award of Marks” certificate in any one of the last two years for Bachelor courses, candidates having “Promoted/Passed” can enter “Promoted or Pass” option in the application form. This relaxation will also be applicable to those final year students who get the “Awards of Marks” certificate. This facility is available only to those candidates who are completing their bachelor’s degree this year or final year bachelor’s program (2021). and 2022).

Minimum percentage of marks also removed

Keeping in view the various assessment patterns adopted by various universities across the country due to the Corona pandemic, the examination committee has also removed the minimum percentage of marks (45 percent and 50 percent) to appear in the CAT 2021 exam. According to the official notification, "This decision will be applicable only on the eligibility criteria of CAT 2021 examination. Candidates are advised to go through and follow the specific admission policy of the respective institute.
