The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said during the hearing held in the Supreme Court on Thursday that it will conduct improvement exams for class 10th and 12th from August 25 to September 15. Whereas, the date of releasing the result of the examination will be announced on 30 September. At the same time, CISCE will conduct the examination from August 16, the results of which will be released by September 20.

Simultaneously, a bench headed by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice Sanjiv Khanna has approved the schedule submitted by CBSE and CISCE in their respective affidavits.

The bench had expressed strong objection to the affidavit

Earlier, the bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Sanjiv Khanna had taken strong objection to the absence of any clear dates in the affidavit filed by CBSE. After this, the bench asked the counsel for CBSE to submit the exam schedule along with the dates by 2 pm. On which the board presented the schedule with the date at 2 o'clock, which was approved by the bench.

Court gave instructions to the board

During this, the court asked the board to inform the students that how many marks of students have been reduced in the results released on the basis of internal assessment. In fact, in the internal assessment, the marks have been decided on the basis of the average of the marks of the students of the last three years. In this regard, the petitioner's lawyer RP Gupta had said that due to this criterion, the marks of many students have come down.

In such a situation, the students want to know that how many marks have been deducted because of the alumni of the school. On this, the court accepted Gupta's arguments and asked CBSE to provide this information to the schools.

Demand for refund of exam fee rejected

Apart from this, lawyer RP Gupta had also said that 1500 rupees were taken from the students in the name of exam fees. But, even after all the expenses, about 200 crore rupees are left with CBSE. In such a situation, in case of non-refund of fees, this amount should be used for the education of poor students. However, the bench refused to accept his contention.
