Steps to Apply For KSET 2024

As the application date for the KSET exam has been extended, candidates who have not yet applied can do so online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of KEA at kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. On the homepage, click on the KSET 2024 registration link.
  3. Complete KSET registration by entering all the required details.
  4. Log in with the generated credentials. Enter personal details including your name, date of birth, gender, and nationality. Provide contact information such as your address, email, and phone number.
  5. Fill in your academic qualifications, including degree(s) obtained, university/college attended, year of passing, and percentage/grade.
  6. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and your signature in the prescribed format and size.
  7. Pay the Karnataka SET application fee and submit the form.
  8. Save and print the form for future reference.

KSET Application Fee

Candidates must pay an application fee to complete the registration process for the KSET exam. The fees can be paid online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or State Bank Buddy e-Wallet. The application fee varies by category:

  • General: ₹1000
  • Cat-IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB: ₹1000
  • Cat-I, SC, ST, PWD (VH/PH), and Transgender Candidates: ₹700

KSET Eligibility 2024

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria in terms of age and qualification. Those who do not meet these requirements will be disqualified.

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit specified for appearing in the KSET exam. Candidates must meet other eligibility conditions as per the notification.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, Persons with Disabilities, Transgender, and Cat. I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB) in their postgraduate degree.
  • Candidates with a post-graduate diploma or certificate from a recognized Indian University or foreign degree/diploma must ensure its equivalence with a Master’s degree recognized by Indian universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
  • Candidates in their final year must produce their certificate within 2 years from the date of publication of KSET results.
  • Candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) who are not from Karnataka will be treated as General Candidates.
  • Ph.D. degree holders who completed their Master’s degree on or before September 19, 1991, with at least 50% marks are eligible.

KSET Exam Pattern and Cut-off 2024

Candidates should familiarize themselves with the exam pattern to create an effective study plan. The Karnataka State Eligibility Test consists of two papers, both of which are objective type. The detailed exam pattern is as follows:

  • Paper 2: Concerned Subject (Objective)

Exam Duration:

  • Paper 1: 1 hour (10 am to 11 am)
  • Paper 2: 2 hours (11:15 am to 1:15 pm)

Marks:

  • Paper 1: 50 Questions, 100 Marks
  • Paper 2: 100 Questions, 200 Marks

General category candidates must obtain a minimum of 40% marks in both papers to qualify. SC/ST/CAT-I/IIA/IIB/IIIA/IIIB/PwD/Transgender candidates need to obtain a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in both papers to qualify.
