Air Force Recruitment: The Indian Air Force has released the notification for AFCAT 2. The detailed notification will be released soon online on the official website afcat.cdac.in. The number of vacancies is 304.

Application Process

The application process will start from 30th May. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online till 30th June 2024. The application fee is Rs. 550 + GST. Candidates are advised to check the official notification before applying.

Vacancies

  • Flying Branch:
    • Men: 18 vacancies
    • Women: 11 vacancies
  • Ground Duty Technical Branch:
    • Men: 124 vacancies
    • Women: 32 vacancies
  • Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch:
    • Men: 95 vacancies
    • Women: 24 vacancies

Exam

The exam will be conducted in September 2024. The course will commence in July 2025. 10% of CDSSE vacancies and 10% of AFCAT vacancies are reserved for PC.

Age Limit

  • Flying Branch:
    • Minimum age limit: 20 years
    • Maximum age limit: 24 years
    • Maximum age limit for candidates holding Commercial Pilot License by DGCA: 26 years
  • Ground Duty Technical and Non-Technical Branch:
    • Minimum age limit: 20 years
    • Maximum age limit: 26 years
    • Candidates under 25 years of age must be unmarried

Educational Qualification

  • Flying Branch:
    • 12th pass with 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics
    • 3 years graduation degree or BE/BTech degree holders with 60% marks can also apply
  • Ground Duty Technical:
    • 12th pass with Physics and Mathematics subjects with 60% marks
    • Graduate or Post Graduate degree in the field of Engineering or Technology
  • Ground Duty Non-Technical:
    • Graduate candidates can apply

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of Officer Intelligence Testing Rating Test and Picture Perception and Discussion Test. No candidate who fails to qualify in Stage 1 exam will be called for Stage 2. Stage 2 includes Psychological Test, Group Test, AFSB Interview and Computerized Pilot Selection System Test for Flying Branch. Medical Examination is also conducted.

Salary

After selection, candidates start getting stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month in the last year of training. After completion of training, the salary under Level 10 Pay Matrix ranges from Rs. 56100 to Rs. 1,10,700 per month. In addition, military service pay and additional allowances are also provided.
