Confusion Reigns at DDU as B.Ed Students Struggle to Find Exam Centre

Gorakhpur: Students faced significant challenges during the first day of the B.Ed first semester examination at DDU Gorakhpur University and its affiliated colleges on Friday. Approximately 300 candidates spent over an hour searching for their designated exam centre. Initially, students arrived at the university believing their examination centre was the DDU Civil Lines, as stated on their admit cards. However, upon reaching the venue, they found no records of their names or registrations at the Diksha Bhawan centre. In response to the students’ plight, the university administration decided to conduct the examinations at Diksha Bhawan. The examination schedule for the B.Ed first semester was released on December 15, and after multiple objections regarding the centres, a revised timetable was issued on December 17, scheduling the exams from 1 PM to 4 PM. Despite these changes, students reported that their exams began 45 minutes late without any extension of the allotted time. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, the examination controller at DDU, stated that the students were supposed to take their exams at the DDU centre, and any future changes would be communicated to the concerned students beforehand. Adding to the confusion, some students reported discrepancies with their admit cards. One student noted that her first downloaded admit card listed DDU as the centre, but a second download showed St. Andrew’s College instead. However, the administration of St. Andrew’s College claimed they had no information regarding the establishment of an exam centre at their location. On a separate note, the first semester examinations for undergraduate students also commenced on the same day, with 10 students being caught using unfair means across various centres.
