Post Name: Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive (ACIO-II/Exe)


  • Essential Qualifications: Graduation or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of computers.

Age Limit: Between 18-27 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, departmental candidates, ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women, and candidates affected by certain riots as per government rules.

Pay Level: Level 7 in the pay matrix (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400).

Initial Pay Breakdown:

  • Basic Pay: Rs. 44,900/-
  • Dearness Allowance (DA): Approximately Rs. 20,654/- (46% of basic pay)
  • Special Security Allowance (SSA): Rs. 8,980/- (20% of basic pay)
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): Varies from 9% to 27% of basic pay depending on the city of posting (X, Y, Z classification)
  • Transport Allowance: Rs. 3,600/- (Higher TPTA cities) or Rs. 1,800/- (Other places)
  • Government contribution towards NPS: Approximately Rs. 6,286/- (14% of basic pay)

Male candidates of UR, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay both the Examination Fee and Recruitment Processing Charges. Selection Process for IB ACIO Recruitment 2024

The selection process for ACIO-II/Exe generally consists of three stages:

Tier-I Examination: This stage comprises objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering topics such as Current Affairs, General Studies, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning/Logical Aptitude, and English. There is negative marking (¼ mark deduction for each wrong answer), and candidates must meet the minimum cut-off marks to qualify for the next stage.

Tier-II Examination: This stage is a descriptive type paper consisting of an Essay (30 marks) and English Comprehension & Précis Writing (20 marks), totaling 50 marks. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 33% marks (17 out of 50) in Tier-II to qualify for the next stage.

Tier-III/Interview: Qualified candidates from Tier-II are called for the Interview round. The final selection is based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III/Interview. Candidates also undergo Character & Antecedent verification and medical examination before final appointment.

Candidates are required to apply online through the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) once the notification is released. The application process typically involves two steps:

Step-I Registration: Candidates need to register with personal and contact details. Upon successful registration, they receive a login ID and password on their registered email.

Step-II Completion of Application Form: After logging in, candidates fill in detailed personal information, and educational qualifications, and upload photographs, and signatures as per specifications. They also need to submit the application fee and recruitment processing charges online.

Submission: Once the form is filled and submitted, candidates receive an Application Sequence Number (ASN) on their registered mobile/email. They must keep a printout of the application form and payment receipt for future reference.
