Ajmer, March 26: The Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) preliminary examination for 2026 is unlikely to take place in May, as no vacancies have been announced yet. The state government had released a recruitment calendar in January for 100,000 positions, indicating that the RAS Combined Competitive Examination for 2026 would cover approximately 500 posts.
Originally scheduled for May 3, the preliminary exam now faces uncertainty as the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has not received any notification from the Personnel Department regarding the vacancies. Consequently, the exam date of May 3 has not been confirmed in the recruitment calendar issued by the commission.
Typically, after vacancies are announced, candidates require about a month to apply, followed by additional time for exam preparation. Historical data shows that exams are usually conducted 2 to 3 months after the application deadline.
For instance, the RAS-2023 vacancies were announced on June 28, 2023, with applications open from July 1 to July 31, leading to the preliminary exam on October 1, 2023. Similarly, RAS-2024 vacancies were announced on September 2, 2024, with the exam scheduled for February 2, 2025, after a three-month preparation period.
Currently, the recruitment process for RAS-2024 is ongoing, which is for 1,096 positions, with interviews starting from December 2025. Results are expected to be announced in late April or early May.
