Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday asked to fill 6,229 vacant posts of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections etc. in central universities through a campaign by October. For this, he asked the respective vice-chancellors to issue an advertisement for recruitment next week. Pradhan said this in a meeting with Vice Chancellors of 45 central universities through digital medium. Pradhan said that filling up of vacancies in Central Universities is an important subject. "Central universities will work on mission mode to fill up about 6,000 vacancies by October 2021," he said.
He said that a total of 6,229 posts are vacant in these universities, out of which 1,012 posts of Scheduled Castes, 592 of Scheduled Castes, 1,767 of Other Backward Classes, 805 of Economically Weaker Sections, 350 of Divyang category and other general category posts are vacant. . The Education Minister said that the month of September is important. Teacher's festival will be celebrated in this month.
