Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi today felicitated teachers and principals of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools on 21st September. During this, 22 CBSE teachers and principals were felicitated. The program, CBSE Honor for Excellence in Teaching and School Leadership 2020-21 was live telecast on CBSE's YouTube channel from CBSE Headquarters at 11 am.

Anita Karwal, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy was also present along with Chief Guest Annapurna Devi. Announcing the event, CBSE in a social media post on 20 September said that, "Hon'ble Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi will felicitate 22 teachers and principals of CBSE affiliated schools…"

President Kovind honored 44 teachers on 5 September

Significantly, on September 5, President Ram Nath Kovind honored 44 teachers across the country with the National Teacher Award for their contribution in developing innovative methods of teaching. The National Awards for Teachers were first instituted in 1958 to recognize the excellence and commitment of teachers in shaping the future as well as the minds of the youth.
