
Mumbai, March 28: The Maharashtra State Examination Council has officially opened the application process for the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official website, mahatet.in. The exam is scheduled to take place on June 21, 2026, in two sessions.
Passing the Maharashtra TET is mandatory for recruitment as teachers in government-aided, non-aided, and permanently non-aided schools under all managements and boards. Candidates can download their admit cards starting June 9, and they must do so by June 21.
Educational Qualification:
– Paper I: Candidates must have completed 12th grade and hold a D.Ed or B.Ed degree.
– Paper II: Candidates must have completed 12th grade or hold a graduation degree along with a D.Ed or B.Ed degree.
Exam Schedule:
– Paper I (Class 1-5): June 21, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM
– Paper II (Class 6-8): June 21, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Category-wise Fees:
– SC/ST: ₹700 for one paper, ₹900 for both
– Divyang: ₹700 for one paper, ₹900 for both
– OBC, EWS, SEBC, Open: ₹1000 for one paper, ₹1200 for both

– Total questions: 150
– No negative marking
