Vedic Vigyan Kendra will teach Vedic Law from November.

In BHU, students will now learn the laws of the Vedic period. A 1-year certificate course in Vedic law is starting at the Vedic Science Center located in Varanasi. Through this course, we will be taught to establish law-and-order based on the Vedas. In this course, along with the Veda based justice system, moral education has also been included. Starting in November, the syllabus of this course has been prepared under the guidance of jurists from across the country.

According to the experts associated with this course, today there are some shortcomings in the law, taking advantage of which the guilty escape from punishment. But, this was not possible in the judicial system of ancient India. Apart from this, due to the limited interpretation of the law today, justice is not done on the right moral grounds. According to these experts, how these weaknesses can be solved on the basis of 'Nyaya Mimamsa', the Vedic text of India, it will be taught in this course.

There was also a system of social justice

Professor Upendra Tripathi, coordinator of the Vedic Science Center, says that the Vedas cannot be separated from policy and justice. There was a system of social justice in that period. For this reason, the social behavior of the individual should also be taken into account during the course of justice.

According to Upendra Tripathi, in one thousand verses of Nyaya Mimamsa, the justice system has been talked about in a very systematic way. After explaining the meaning of these verses, students will be made to study it in depth. We will also teach what a case can be decided on the basis of Vedic justice.

rules based on merit

Anoop Kumar Pandey of Law Faculty associated with this course said that in ancient history, a system of keeping weapons was made according to merit. But today weapons are given when needed. Even today this facility should be given only to the deserving person. Earlier, the perpetrators of crimes were decided at the level of Gram Panchayat. This did not put pressure on the court from the rush of unnecessary cases.

On the contrary, today most of the cases are pending in the High Court and District Court for years. Due to lack of witnesses and evidence, no decision can be taken. Today the need is that by strengthening the Gram Panchayat, most of the cases should be settled there.

The lesson of Rajdharma and good governance will be taught

In Vedic jurisprudence, there will be talk of Nyayamamsa, Rajdharma, Good Governance and Vedic environmental laws. At the same time, Sanskrit words, sources, duty based justice, civil law, criminal color, family law, matrimonial relationship, paternity, child and adopted son law, joint Hindu family, inheritance law and property rights of Hindu women etc. will also be studied in detail. .
