According to the latest report, women married in Bihar Panchayat elections whose father's house is in Nepal, in such a situation, women cannot contest Bihar Panchayat elections on the basis of caste certificate issued from Nepal.
The State Election Commission has said that the caste of a woman is determined by the caste of her father and not by the caste of her husband. Therefore, such a woman will not get the benefit of reservation in Panchayat elections. Orders have been given regarding this.
Let us inform that information was sought from the District Election Officer of West Champaran district that the married woman whose father's house is in Nepal. But she is married in Bihar, that woman can contest elections here by taking advantage of reservation or not.
Let us tell you that the Bihar Panchayat elections will start from September 24. The notification will be issued on August 24. In this election, the provision of reservation has been made as before. OBC, AC, ST as well as women candidates will get the benefit of reservation here.
