The online application process for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) December 2021 has started. The last date of application is 19 October 2021 till 11:59 PM. Candidates can submit the application fee till October 20, 3:30 PM. The exam will start from 16th December 2021 and will run till 13th January 2022. This time the 15th edition of CTET will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will be conducted in 20 languages across the country.

Application Fee: Rs.1000 for General and OBC candidates to apply for Paper-I and Rs.1200 for both the papers. For SC, ST and PWD candidates, the application fee for Paper-I is Rs.500 and for both the papers, Rs.600/-

Exam Pattern Changed : In July 2021, CBSE had issued necessary notification regarding amendment in Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021 exam pattern. As per the official notification, the question papers will be designed to assess less factual knowledge and more conceptual understanding, application, problem-solving, reasoning and critical thinking. CBSE will also release new sample papers and blueprints soon.

Recognition in Haryana : The Haryana government had recently given CTET equal status to HTET. In such a situation, the youth who want to get into teaching have shown great interest in doing CTET. This time more eligible than before will take part in the exam.

Exam will be in two phases

The CTET exam will be online and in two phases. Two and a half hours will be given for the exam. There are two papers. For applicants willing to teach 1st to 5th standard paper. The second paper is for the candidates who want to become teachers from class 6th to 8th. Candidates can also appear for both the exams but only if they fulfill the conditions. All questions will be of multiple choice. There is no negative marking.

These changes in the paper pattern

Paper I: Questions will be asked from Child Development and Pedagogy (30 questions), Language one (30 questions), Language II (30 questions), Mathematics (30 questions) and Environment Studies (30 questions). Thus a total of 150 questions (150 marks) will be asked from 5 sections. Child Development and Pedagogy, language one and two sections will be compulsory.

Paper II: Child Development and Pedagogy (30 questions), Language one (30 questions), Language two (30 questions) and the fourth section will be optional. There will be Mathematics & Science (60 questions/ for Science teacher) and Social Studies/ Social Science (60 questions/ for Social Science teacher). Only one of these two sections has to be done. A total of 150 questions will be asked.

60% marks required to pass

To clear CTET one must have 60% or above marks. There is relaxation for reserved category candidates. As per the new rule, the validity of CTET qualifying certificate will now be for lifetime. Once you have passed this exam, you will not have to take the exam again. There is no set limit on the number of chances to take the exam. You can re-appear to improve your score.
