Mumbai, March 10: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that the 12th-grade Maths paper is authentic and secure, dismissing rumors of a leak. Concerns arose after a QR code printed on the first page of the exam paper led to a dance video when scanned.
On March 9, during the 12th-grade Maths examination, students reported that scanning the QR code redirected them to a YouTube link featuring a Rickroll dance video, which sparked fears of compromised exam integrity.
In response to these concerns, CBSE stated that the QR codes are embedded as part of the paper’s security features. However, due to technical issues, some codes mistakenly linked to YouTube, causing confusion among students.
CBSE reassured students and parents that all distributed question papers are genuine, emphasizing that the examination process remains transparent and secure. The board is investigating how the QR codes malfunctioned and has urged everyone not to pay attention to the circulating rumors.
CBSE has committed to taking necessary measures to prevent such technical issues in the future, ensuring the integrity of the examination process is upheld.
