Ajmer, March 14: The recruitment process for 35 Economics lecturer positions in government schools in Rajasthan has concluded, leaving six posts unfilled. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released the final results, revealing that only 29 candidates made it to the main merit list.
The primary reason for the vacancies is that many candidates failed to achieve the minimum required marks. The Economics examination took place on June 30, 2025, with 7,274 candidates registered, out of which only 2,655 appeared for the exam.
Notably, no candidates from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category were selected, resulting in all positions for this category remaining vacant. The commission has also released a reserve list of 12 candidates who may be considered if any of the 29 successful candidates do not take up their positions.
The eligibility list for candidates in the Economics subject for the Secondary Education Department’s competitive examination was published by the commission on January 20, 2026, followed by eligibility checks and document verification. The commission has now announced the main list of successful candidates.
For the recruitment of 2,202 positions, the RPSC had announced vacancies on October 25, 2024. Candidates were required to secure a minimum of 40% marks to qualify. After eligibility checks and document verification, only 29 candidates were declared successful according to the merit order. Due to the failure to meet the cutoff marks, several seats remain vacant. The examination consisted of two papers, with Paper 1 totaling 150 marks and Paper 2 totaling 300 marks, both requiring a minimum score of 40%.
Over 600,000 candidates applied for the recruitment process in Rajasthan, with 909 examination centers set up across fifteen districts. The RPSC has now completed the recruitment process and announced the final results.
