RPSC to Verify Documents Before Deputy Commandant Exam Results

Ajmer, April 3: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced that for the first time, it will verify candidates’ documents before releasing the results of the Deputy Commandant recruitment examination. This decision comes as part of the recruitment process for the year 2025.

All 255 candidates who appeared for the examination have been summoned to the commission’s office between April 15 and 20. Following this, the written exam results will be declared, and the recruitment process will be completed through interviews.

A significant number of candidates had applied without meeting the necessary qualifications, and many of them participated in the exam despite their ineligibility. To address this issue, the commission has decided to conduct the verification beforehand.

The recruitment for four Deputy Commandant positions attracted over 10,000 applications. Only retired army captains, former officers who have resigned, or candidates released from emergency and short service commissions were eligible to apply.

Additionally, applications were submitted in categories where no vacancies were announced. Following stricter measures, more than half of the candidates withdrew their applications. Among those remaining, around 10% did not appear for the exam.

According to RPSC Secretary Ram Niwas Mehta, all candidates who took the exam are required to report to the commission’s office between April 15 and 20.

Documents Required
Candidates must download the counseling letter and detailed application form from the RPSC website, www.rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. They are required to bring two copies of the application form, a receipt for the online fee payment of ₹50, relevant educational documents, a self-attested copy of the retirement/NOC certificate from the rank of Captain, and other necessary documents, along with the originals.

The RPSC had previously published information on January 14, 2026, indicating potential challenges for this recruitment process, with concerns that the positions may remain unfilled.

Vacancy Announcement
On March 18, 2025, RPSC announced the recruitment for four Deputy Commandant positions in the Home Defense Department, with online applications accepted from March 24 to April 22, 2025. Initially, over 10,000 candidates applied, but after withdrawals, only 4,221 candidates remained. The written exam took place on January 11, 2026, with 255 candidates participating.

The recruitment was exclusively for retired army captains, former officers who resigned, or candidates released from emergency and short service commissions.

Ineligible Candidates
Many candidates applied without meeting the qualifications for this recruitment. During the application review, several were found ineligible and were given the opportunity to withdraw their applications. The commission warned that failure to withdraw would result in action under Section 217 of the Indian Penal Code, leading to around 6,000 candidates withdrawing their applications.
