SSC Introduces New Objection Management System for Exams

Mumbai, April 11: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced significant changes to its examination process with the introduction of the Objection Management System for 2026. As per the new guidelines, candidates will receive full marks for any question deemed incorrect or unclear. This decision was communicated through an official notice on April 10.

Candidates will now be required to take the exam in the language they select during the application process. The new system aims to enhance transparency, fairness, and candidate-friendliness in the evaluation process.

Key highlights of the new guidelines include:
1. Candidates will receive full marks for questions that are incorrect or ambiguous.
2. If multiple correct answers exist for a question, candidates will be awarded marks for selecting any correct option. Negative marking will apply for incorrect answers, while unanswered questions will receive no marks.
3. Questions outside the syllabus will be removed, and candidates will be awarded full marks for those questions.
4. In cases of translation errors leading to incorrect questions, only candidates taking the exam in that specific language will receive marks.
5. The SSC has not specified the fee for challenging the answer key in the new guidelines, although it was reduced from ₹100 to ₹50 last year.
6. If a candidate’s challenge is upheld, the challenge fee will be refunded according to the rules.

The SSC has clarified that only valid objections will be considered and has urged candidates to refrain from submitting unnecessary challenges. After each exam, a provisional answer key will be released, and subject matter experts will review the objections before finalizing the answer key, which will be used to prepare the results.

This initiative comes in response to numerous complaints regarding incorrect questions in the answer key, including cases raised through RTI and court proceedings.

For candidates wishing to challenge the SSC answer key, the process is as follows:
– Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in.
– Log in using your registration number and password.
– Click on the answer key challenge link under the exam name.
– Review your SSC exam response sheet.
– Select the question ID you wish to challenge.
– Upload valid proof of the correct answer for the question.
– Pay the ₹50 challenge fee for each question.
– Submit your response and save the receipt.

This new system is expected to streamline the examination process and address the concerns raised by candidates in previous assessments.
