UP Police SI Recruitment Exam Underway for Over 15 Lakh Candidates

Lucknow, March 14: The Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination commenced today, with over 15 lakh candidates registered to participate. The exam is scheduled to take place over two days, on March 14 and 15, in two shifts: the first from 10 AM to 12 PM and the second from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Strict security measures have been implemented at examination centers, including thorough checks of candidates. In Varanasi, candidates were required to remove their shoes and socks for entry, while police personnel on duty were asked to submit their mobile phones. Jewelry, including bangles and earrings for female candidates, was also removed before entry.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBB) has established 1,090 centers across all 75 districts, with 43 centers dedicated to the exam in Prayagraj alone. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 4,543 positions, with 1,575,760 candidates having registered, including 1,166,386 men and 409,374 women.

Prior to the exam, UPPBB registered FIRs against three Telegram channels that claimed to provide exam papers for a fee of ₹10,000 to ₹12,000. The police in Lucknow have initiated action under anti-cheating laws, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.

In various districts, candidates faced rigorous checks, including the removal of belts and other accessories. In Hathras, candidates had to remove watches and other items before being allowed entry into the examination centers. Security protocols were strictly enforced to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
