Mumbai, September 26: India and the Netherlands have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for technical cooperation on the Kalpsar project in Gujarat. The agreements were formalized during the ninth India International Water Week 2026 held in New Delhi. The project aims to create a freshwater reservoir using water from the Sabarmati, Mahi, and Dhadar rivers, as well as from the Narmada River. Under this agreement, India will benefit from Dutch engineering expertise and training. The collaboration seeks to strengthen India-Netherlands cooperation in the water sector, particularly in advancing the Kalpsar project. Discussions regarding this project took place during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands earlier this year.
