JEE Main 2027 Registration Begins with New Exam Dates

Mumbai, October 25: The registration process for JEE Main 2027 has officially commenced on the National Testing Agency’s website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates aspiring for admission into B.Tech and B.Arch courses can apply online until November 22, 2026.

Significant changes have been announced regarding the exam dates for Session 1. Initially scheduled for January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, 2027, the exams will now take place on January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2027. The examination will be conducted over six days, with two shifts each day: the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This year, the JEE Main registration process has introduced three major changes aimed at enhancing transparency. Firstly, candidates must verify their identity using one of the digital services provided by the Government of India, such as DigiLocker, Meri Pehchan, or JanParichay. This new system is designed to minimize errors in the information provided by candidates and prevent fraudulent applications.

Secondly, candidates are now required to capture a live photo during the application process using a webcam or mobile device by scanning a QR code.

Lastly, the National Testing Agency has allowed students to apply with a late fee. Those who miss the initial registration deadline of November 22 will have the opportunity to apply between November 23 and 26, 2026, by paying a late fee of ₹500. After November 26, the registration process will close.

For candidates looking to apply for JEE Main 2027, there is no age limit. Candidates who completed their 12th grade in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing for the exam in 2027, are eligible to apply. Typically, engineering institutes require a minimum of 75% marks in 12th grade for admission.

The application fees for JEE Main 2027 are as follows: ₹1000 for general category candidates, ₹800 for general category female candidates, ₹900 for OBC and EWS candidates, and ₹500 for SC/ST/transgender/PWD candidates. Payment can be made online.
