Ajmer, March 12: In a surprising turn of events, out of 16 Home Science lecturer positions in government schools in Rajasthan, 15 remain unfilled. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) completed the recruitment process and announced the final results on Tuesday, revealing that only one candidate made it to the main merit list.
The examination took place on July 1, 2025, with 2,623 candidates registered, but only 949 appeared for the test. A significant number of candidates failed to achieve the minimum required marks, resulting in just one candidate qualifying for the merit list.
The RPSC had previously released a list of eligible candidates for the Home Science subject as part of the competitive examination for the post of Professor and Coach (School Education) on December 11, 2025.
Despite the commission announcing a total of 2,202 vacancies, the requirement of securing at least 40% marks proved to be a barrier for many. After the eligibility check and document verification, only one candidate was declared successful according to the merit order. Seats reserved for SC-ST, OBC, MBC, and EWS categories also remained vacant due to the lack of qualifying scores.
The examination consisted of two papers, with Paper 1 carrying a total of 150 marks and Paper 2 totaling 300 marks, both requiring a minimum qualifying score of 40%.
