
Ram Nagar, April 26: The Uttarakhand Board of School Education has announced the results for the 10th and 12th board examinations for the year 2026. The results were formally declared in the presence of the state’s Education Minister, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. This year, the competition was intense, with top ranks determined by just a one-mark difference. In the 10th grade, Akshat Gopal from Nainital topped the state with 491 out of 500 marks, while Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Sushila Mehndi Ratta from Udham Singh Nagar jointly secured the top position in the 12th grade with 490 marks each.
The overall pass percentage stood at 92.10% for the 10th grade and 85.11% for the 12th grade. Bageshwar district performed the best in both classes, while Dehradun and Haridwar were at the bottom in the 10th and 12th grades, respectively.
Interestingly, several students’ ranks were affected by a mere one mark. In the 10th grade, two students scored 490 marks, placing them in the second position, while another student with 489 marks secured third place. Similarly, in the 12th grade, the two students with 490 marks shared the top rank, with the next student scoring 489 marks.
Minister Rawat congratulated the topper Geetika Pant over the phone, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his best wishes to all successful candidates via a post on social media. Approximately 215,000 students participated in this year’s examinations, which were conducted peacefully from February 21 to March 20, 2026.
