1. Anil Menon Completes Historic Spacewalk
On August 7, Indian-origin astronaut Anil Menon completed his first spacewalk alongside Jessica Meir at the International Space Station (ISS). The spacewalk commenced at 8:33 AM EDT (6:03 PM IST) and concluded at 3:00 PM EDT (12:30 AM IST). During the six-hour and 27-minute operation, Menon and Meir worked on structural upgrades outside the orbital laboratory, specifically installing mounting hardware for a 3B power channel. This upgrade is pivotal for future solar array installations, enhancing the ISS’s power supply.
2. Successful Testing of Agni-4 Ballistic Missile
On August 6, the Agni-4 ballistic missile was successfully tested from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.
