Mumbai, September 23: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the sample question papers (SQP) and marking scheme for the academic session 2026-27 for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Students can access these sample papers and the marking scheme on CBSE’s official academic website, cbseacademic.nic.in.
CBSE has also published subject-wise sample question papers for both classes, which can be used as a detailed reference by students preparing for the 2027 board exams. The released marking scheme outlines how answers will be evaluated and marks awarded in the upcoming Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
Additionally, the board is expected to release a detailed timetable for both classes by October 2026.
Students can follow specific steps to download the sample papers and marking scheme from the official website. The passing criteria will remain unchanged from the previous academic session, as confirmed in a press note issued on September 21.
For updates regarding the 2027 CBSE board examinations, students are advised to regularly check the official website.
This year, for the first time, CBSE had evaluated answer sheets through On-Screen Marking (OSM). Following the announcement of the Class 12 board exam results on May 13, 2026, several students alleged that some answers were not checked, leading to a controversy.
In light of the OSM dispute, the CBSE chairman Rahul Singh and secretary Himanshu Gupta were transferred, and a committee was formed to investigate the tender and procurement process for OSM services. Senior IAS officer Lokhande Prashant Sitaram has been appointed as the new chairman, with Varun Bhardwaj as the secretary.
