Madhubani, August 28: In a surprising turn of events, the District Magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma conducted an unexpected inspection at a primary school in Benipatti village, Madhubani district, where students were found studying under a makeshift shed. The school, part of the Adher South Panchayat, is currently operating in a temporary structure as the construction of a new building is underway.
Upon discovering the poor conditions, DM Sharma expressed his dissatisfaction and promptly arranged for the students to be relocated to the upgraded Middle School in Sinuwara. He instructed that until the new primary school building is completed, classes will continue at the middle school.
Furthermore, DM Sharma emphasized the need for the Panchayat Committee to expedite the construction of the school building and urged local governing bodies to actively work towards strengthening the educational infrastructure.
In a broader initiative, a list of 63 dilapidated and newly established primary schools has been submitted to the education department to improve the educational infrastructure in the district. Proposals for new building constructions based on unit pricing have been prepared, and administrative approval is expected soon after discussions with the education secretary. This initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s priorities to ensure that all identified schools are equipped with permanent buildings and modern facilities.
