Kolkata, September 14: The West Bengal government has granted approval for a new testing center of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Junput, located in the East Medinipur district. This facility will serve as an additional testing center to the Integrated Test Range (ITR) situated in Chandipur, Odisha. The establishment of this new center aims to alleviate the increasing pressure of weapon testing in Chandipur. The Junput facility will focus on testing short-range missiles, weapon systems, and radar equipment.
