Ahmedabad, July 28: The Gujarat government has launched a new service to combat cyber crimes, allowing victims of cyber financial fraud to file complaints online from the comfort of their homes. This initiative, named ‘Cyber Financial Fraud e-Zero FIR,’ was introduced on July 27, eliminating the need for victims to visit police stations.
Upon receiving a complaint, the police will initiate immediate action to freeze the fraudulent amount, addressing the rising incidents of cyber crimes and digital payment frauds. The state police have also set up a dedicated portal and helpline for this service, which was inaugurated by Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister, Harsh Sanghvi.
This move is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the safety and security of citizens in the digital space.
