Hostel Warden Caught Stealing During Exams in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 23: A video allegedly showing a hostel warden stealing from a student’s room during exams has gone viral on social media. The incident took place at ABES Engineering College in Ghaziabad, where the warden was seen rummaging through a student’s belongings.

In the footage, the warden is observed taking cash from the student’s wallet and placing it in his pocket. This incident reportedly occurred while the student was away taking semester exams. The warden, identified as Sunil Kumar, nicknamed ‘Mario’ by students, entered the room during this time.

The video shows him opening drawers, bags, and checking the wardrobe. After inspecting the wardrobe, he checks the student’s wallet and takes out cash. The warden is also seen looking for a lighter in the students’ room.

Students Label Warden as a Thief
Users sharing the video online have labeled the warden a thief. Following the video’s circulation, several students have claimed that there have been previous complaints of missing items in the hostel, but no serious action has been taken. Some students alleged that thefts during exams have happened before.

However, some users commented that the video could be misleading. One user mentioned, “Such incidents happened during our hostel days too. This is usually done to find banned illegal items in the hostel. He (the warden) is not stealing; it’s called a ‘silent raid’.” Another user suggested that the video might have been recorded by the warden himself to show he was not falsely accusing the residents.

No Official Statement from College Administration
As of now, there has been no official statement from the college administration. However, social media users are demanding action against the warden. The video is being rapidly shared, sparking a debate about security measures on campus.
