IT Ministry Signs MoU with PhonePe for Ladakh High Court Bench

Mumbai, August 23: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PhonePe, a leading online payment and fintech company. This agreement aims to enhance the digital payment ecosystem and fintech sector in India.

Additionally, the central cabinet has approved the establishment of a bench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in the Union Territory of Ladakh. This development, announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will facilitate easier access to justice for the residents of Ladakh, eliminating the need for them to travel to Jammu or Srinagar for court-related matters.

The MoU with PhonePe is expected to play a significant role in strengthening the digital infrastructure and promoting financial inclusion in the region.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving access to justice and enhancing digital services in remote areas.
