Major Changes in JEE Main 2027 Registration Process

Mumbai, October 25: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced significant changes to the registration process for JEE Main 2027, aimed at enhancing transparency. Candidates are now required to verify their identity using government-provided digital services such as DigiLocker, Meri Pehchan, or JanParichay before submitting their application forms.

This new digital verification framework is designed to minimize errors in the information provided by candidates, prevent fraudulent applications, and streamline the document verification process.

To register for JEE Main Session 1, candidates can visit the official NTA website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. After verifying their identity, they can fill in their personal and educational details, upload necessary documents, pay the examination fee, and submit their application. The last date for registration for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is November 22, 2026, with the examination scheduled for January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2027.

Candidates are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar card details, including photo, name, date of birth, gender, and address, are updated according to UIDAI guidelines, as changes will not be allowed after Aadhaar authentication.

The integration of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Meri Pehchan platform aims to make the eKYC verification process more secure and digital.

For a step-by-step guide on filling the JEE Main 2027 application form, candidates need to register on the NTA website, create a password, and log in using their application number. They must provide details such as personal information, exam paper choice (B.E./B.Tech or B.Arch/B.Planning), and preferred exam cities, along with their academic qualifications. A live photo capture is mandatory during the application process, requiring a clear image against a white background.

This initiative marks a significant step towards a more efficient and secure examination process for aspiring engineering students in India.
