Bhopal, April 15: The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has announced the results of the Higher Secondary Examination for 2026, revealing a remarkable pass percentage of 76%. This year’s results mark the best performance in the last 16 years, as declared by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s residence.

Among the successful candidates, 79.41% of female students passed, while the pass percentage for male students stood at 72.39%. Celebrations erupted as sweets were distributed following the announcement.

Top performers include Khushi Rai and Chandni Vishwakarma from Bhopal, both scoring an impressive 494 out of 500 marks. Khushi is a student at Subhash Excellence School in Shivaji Nagar, while Chandni studies at Gurudev Education Centre in Neelbad, Bhopal.

In line with the new education policy, a second chance examination will be conducted starting May 7, 2026. A helpline number, 18002330175, has also been established for students seeking assistance.

Notable achievements include Tanvi, who secured the first position in Biology and aspires to become a doctor. Mahi Sahu from Sandipani School in Narsinghpur also made it to the merit list. Shruti Tomar from Drone Academy topped the Arts stream, while Nikhil Soni scored 476 marks in Commerce.

The examinations took place from February 10 to March 7, 2026, with a total of 689,746 candidates participating, including 613,634 regular and 76,112 private students.

Government schools performed notably well, achieving an overall pass percentage of 80.43%, significantly higher than the 69.67% recorded by private institutions.

However, the results revealed stark contrasts in performance between neighboring districts. While Sidhi ranked among the top five districts, Rewa fell into the bottom five. Major cities like Jabalpur, Indore, and Bhopal did not meet expectations, ranking 33rd, 43rd, and 45th respectively, despite having access to advanced educational resources.
