Mumbai, August 29: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has appointed two new directors and one joint director in response to the recent paper leak incident. The appointments were made on August 27, with IPS Ravi Kumar Singh and IAS officer Prasanna Venkatesh V taking on the roles of directors, while Amit Samdaria, an IRS officer from the 2016 batch, has been appointed as the joint director.
Ravi Kumar Singh, an IPS officer from the 2012 AGMUT cadre, previously served as DCP in the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police. Prasanna Venkatesh V, an IAS officer from the 2012 Andhra Pradesh cadre, has held several significant administrative positions, including district collector in Eluru and commissioner of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
All three officers are expected to assume their positions within three weeks of the order’s issuance and will serve for a term of five years. These changes come in the wake of the NEET paper leak scandal, which led to the dismissal of 47 officials by the NTA on July 25.
This restructuring aims to restore trust and integrity within the agency as it continues to oversee national examinations.
