Junnardeo, August 20: A video featuring students from a government school in Bichbehari village, Junnardeo block, has gone viral, raising serious allegations against two teachers. In the video, students claim that the teachers do not teach them and instead leave early to engage in inappropriate activities in the school bathroom.
The students reported that their school hours are until 4 PM, but they are dismissed at 3 PM. They specifically mentioned the teacher in charge and a guest female teacher, stating that after sending the students home, the two lock themselves in the bathroom.
Parents Demand Action
The issue was first raised in the village council and later brought to the attention of the district collector. Parents of the students expressed their concerns, stating that such behavior from teachers could negatively impact their children. They demanded the immediate removal of both teachers and the appointment of replacements to ensure proper education.
Allegations of Neglect
Students further alleged that the teachers are often preoccupied with their mobile phones instead of teaching. They claimed that the teachers’ negligence has led to a complete halt in education at the school.
Local residents have previously complained about these teachers to the Block Education Officer (BEO) and officials from the Tribal Affairs Department, but no action was taken. Frustrated by the lack of response, villagers demanded the teachers’ removal during a meeting held on August 16.
Investigation Ordered
Upon hearing the children’s distressing accounts, the Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department ordered an immediate investigation, acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations. He stated that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
Assistant Commissioner Satyendra Singh Markam confirmed that both teachers have been removed from their positions, and instructions have been given to file a First Information Report (FIR) against them.
Teachers Deny Allegations
The accused teachers have claimed that they are being falsely accused. They suggested that the students might be acting under influence, as another individual has applied for the guest teacher position and is on the waiting list. They believe the allegations are an attempt to replace them.
