Youngest Chartered Accountant Achieves Guinness World Record

Dubai, August 18: Laxmanan Meyyappan has made headlines by becoming the youngest male Chartered Accountant in the world, as recognized by Guinness World Records. He achieved this remarkable feat at just 16 years and 141 days old.

Meyyappan’s interest in accounting blossomed during the COVID-19 lockdown. After completing his Class 10 board exams, he decided to pursue finance and accounting seriously. His mother, an ACCA herself, provided him with foundational knowledge in accounting during this period.

Starting his professional qualification preparation at the age of 15, he completed it in nearly a year. Following his ACCA, he chose not to halt his studies but instead advanced further in finance by enrolling in the CFA program, which he is set to complete by September 2025.

Currently, he is pursuing an MSc in Finance while working as a Senior Research Analyst at Century Financial in Dubai. His role involves conducting investment-related research, financial analysis, and preparing essential information for investment decisions.

In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Meyyappan has a passion for designing and creating watches. He believes that achieving qualifications quickly is not the only measure of success; understanding how to apply learned concepts in real life is equally important.
