Mumbai, September 26: A 13-year-old student from China, Zhu Shuhan, has made headlines by creating a study app that has earned approximately ₹2.5 lakh within just three days of its launch. The app, named ‘Zai Chang’, which translates to ‘On Site’, was designed without any coding knowledge, utilizing artificial intelligence to assist students in managing their studies.
The idea for the app came to Shuhan during her own academic struggles, as she often found herself studying alone while her parents were busy. She realized that many children her age likely faced similar challenges in focusing on their studies without supervision.
Shuhan showcased her app at a national AI product marketing competition held in Hangzhou from August 21 to 23, where she won third place among over 50 participants, receiving a cash prize of ₹70,000. During the three-day event, the app received 90 orders, contributing to its impressive earnings.
One unique feature of the app was its alert system, which notified users when their attention drifted, simulating a mother’s reprimand. However, Shuhan decided to remove this feature, aiming for the app to be more supportive and encouraging for children.
The first user of the app was Shuhan’s younger brother, a primary school student, who reportedly improved his study habits while using it. Shuhan is keen on reaching a wider audience and is considering lowering the app’s price to make it accessible to more users. She expressed her commitment to continue developing the app if there is sufficient interest from potential users.
