Mumbai, July 18: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results for the Class 10 second board examination. Students who appeared for the exam can check and download their results from the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.
A total of 96.78% of students have successfully passed the examination. Following the release of the main exam results, approximately 6.7 lakh students applied to take the second board exam.

No Rank or Topper List Released
CBSE has clarified that it will not release any rank or topper list this time. The board aims to reduce the competitive pressure on students. However, students who excel in various subjects will be awarded merit certificates, which will be made available through DigiLocker after the second board exam results are released.
Minimum 33% Marks Required
Students who were declared unsuccessful in one or two subjects in the main exam must secure a minimum of 33% marks in the second board exam to pass. Those who fail in the second board exam will have the opportunity to improve their scores by appearing in the next year’s board examination.
Introduction of Second Board Exam
The CBSE introduced the second board examination for Class 10 starting in 2026 to provide students with another chance to improve their performance within the same academic year. This initiative is in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
