Pratapgarh, August 26: In Udayakhedi village, located in the Daloat tehsil of Pratapgarh district, Rajasthan, school children are forced to navigate a perilous route to school due to the lack of a proper bridge or pathway. These children rely on a broken tree to cross a river, risking their lives daily.
Temporary Pathway Created by Villagers
The villagers have temporarily supported the fallen date palm tree with bamboo and nails, allowing the children to balance as they cross the river. Although a bridge has been sanctioned twice for this area, local landowners have obstructed its construction.
Previously, the villagers constructed a bridge with their own hands, but it was destroyed by rain. Now, this makeshift structure is the only route available for children to reach school.
Potential for Serious Accidents
Residents express concern that the absence of a safe crossing could lead to a major accident at any time. They have urged the administration to expedite the construction of a permanent bridge to ensure the safety of children and villagers, preventing them from risking their lives while crossing the river.
