Mohali, August 11: The Chandigarh administration has taken significant action against the ride-sharing app InDrive, suspending its aggregator license for six months. This decision was made by the State Transport Authority (STA) and is effective immediately.
Users of InDrive in Chandigarh are advised to take note of this development. The STA has ordered the company, M/S Indsystems IT Private Limited, to cease all cab and bike taxi services within the city limits.

1. Complete Service Halt – The STA has instructed InDrive to immediately stop all cab and bike taxi services in Chandigarh.
2. Warning for Drivers and Vehicle Owners – All drivers associated with InDrive have been directed not to accept ride bookings through the app and to halt their services immediately.
3. Strict Action for Violations – Any driver found violating these regulations will face penalties, including fines and vehicle confiscation.
4. Advice for Passengers – The STA has recommended that the public refrain from booking rides through the InDrive app to avoid inconvenience and has urged them to use other registered app-based cab services.
An aggregator license is a government-issued permission that allows companies to provide services like cabs or bike taxis through an app. Companies such as Ola, Uber, and InDrive connect passengers with drivers via their platforms but do not operate all vehicles themselves. If this license is suspended, the company cannot conduct ride bookings or transportation services in that area.
