Rajasthan PTI Exam Cancelled, Postponed to 2027

Mumbai, June 22: Candidates preparing for the Physical Education Teacher (PTI) recruitment exam in Rajasthan have received disappointing news as the exam scheduled for September 13, 2026, has been cancelled. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) announced that the exam will now likely take place in April 2027 due to unresolved issues related to recruitment regulations.

The delay has raised concerns among candidates regarding age limits, preparation time, and employment opportunities. Many have been waiting for this recruitment for several years, and the repeated postponements have led to growing frustration.

Alok Raj, the chairman of RSSB, shared on social media that the advertisement for the PTI recruitment will be released only after necessary clarifications regarding the regulations are obtained. Given the current situation, holding the exam in 2026 is not feasible, and the board is now aiming for April 2027. The recruitment process is expected to fill around 900 PTI positions in the state.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have completed their 12th grade from a recognized board, along with a degree in Physical Education such as B.P.Ed., D.P.Ed., or C.P.Ed.

Age Limit: The minimum age for applicants is 18 years, and the maximum age is 40 years, with age calculated as of January 1, 2027. Relaxations in age limits are applicable for OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and female candidates as per government regulations.

Key Points about PTI Recruitment:
– PTIs are responsible for managing sports, physical education, and fitness activities in schools.
– Most states require candidates to have qualifications like D.P.Ed./C.P.Ed. or B.P.Ed. along with 12th grade.
– The selection process includes a written exam, document verification, and merit list.
– Some states may also require a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for PTI recruitment.
– Allegations of fake B.P.Ed. degrees and dummy candidates led to investigations and actions against several appointments in Rajasthan’s PTI recruitment in 2022.
– There have also been arrests related to fraudulent sports certificates for job acquisition in Rajasthan.
– The Punjab government had previously withdrawn a recruitment announcement for 2,000 PTI teachers in 2025.
– To maintain transparency in recruitment exams, processes for document verification, degree checks, and digital record matching are being strengthened continuously.
