
Ajmer, July 4: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission has reduced the number of posts for the Senior Teacher recruitment by 886, bringing the total to 9,651. Over 1.2 million candidates have applied to participate in the examination. Initially, the recruitment was set for 10,537 posts.
The examination will take place as scheduled from July 12 to July 18, 2026. The commission has issued a corrigendum regarding the latest number of posts by subject. All other conditions of the advertisement remain unchanged. Detailed information and the corrigendum are available on the commission’s website.
Hearing in High Court
Today, the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench, heard petitions regarding the postponement of the examination and reopening of applications. During the hearing, the commission’s secretary informed the court that according to effective regulations, the maximum increase in original posts can only be up to 50% from the date of the advertisement.
Previously, through corrigendum number 10/2026-27, the number of posts was increased to 10,537, which exceeded the 50% limit. This has now been amended, and the posts will be filled according to the regulations, with a maximum increase of 50%. A corrigendum will be issued to notify the revised number of posts.
New Corrigendum Issued
Following the court hearing, the commission has released corrigendum number 11/2026-27, which removes the additional posts that exceeded 50%, now officially notifying a total of 9,651 posts.
Classification by Subject to be Released Soon
The original advertisement (number 07/2025-26) was issued last year on July 17, 2025, for a total of 6,500 posts across 10 subjects. Online applications were accepted from August 19 to September 17, 2025. Subsequently, based on proposals from the Secondary Education Department, the number of posts was increased to 10,537, which has now been revised back to 9,651. Examinations Divided into Four Groups
Group A includes Social Science, with candidates scheduled for a general knowledge exam on July 12 from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the Social Science exam from 3 PM to 5:30 PM.
Group B features Hindi, with candidates taking the general knowledge exam on July 13 from 10 AM to 12 PM, and the Hindi exam from 3 PM to 5:30 PM.
Group C consists of Science and Sanskrit, with general knowledge exams on July 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the Science exam from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. Sanskrit candidates will take their exam on July 15 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM.
Group D includes Mathematics, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Gujarati. General knowledge exams will be held on July 16 from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the Mathematics exam from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. English and Urdu exams will take place on July 17, and Punjabi, Sindhi, and Gujarati exams will be held on July 18.
