Ajmer, July 12: The Rajasthan Senior Teacher Recruitment Examination commenced today, with over 1.2 million candidates registered to compete for 9,651 positions across 27 districts. The exam is being conducted at 1,221 centers and will take place in two shifts. The first shift, focusing on General Knowledge (GK), runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the second shift later in the day.
In a notable incident, a metal detector arrived late at a center in Sawai Madhopur, leading to candidates being allowed entry without prior checks. Candidates were permitted entry only up to one hour before the exam began.
The examination features a diverse range of subjects, with the fewest posts available in Gujarati and the most in Mathematics. The exams are divided into four groups, scheduled to take place from July 12 to July 18, 2026.
Security measures at various centers have been stringent, with thorough checks being conducted before candidates are allowed entry.
