Rajasthan Veterinary Officer Selection Sparks Controversy

Ajmer, June 18: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has come under scrutiny following the announcement of the provisional results for the Veterinary Officer recruitment exam. Surprisingly, candidates with negative marks have been selected for the 1,100 available positions. The results were released on June 16.

An analysis of the cutoff marks revealed that candidates with scores as low as minus 11.74 were included in the selection list. Ashutosh Gupta, the chief examination controller of the commission, clarified that there are no minimum marks criteria for this exam, allowing even those with negative scores to qualify. He emphasized the importance of this position and mentioned that the matter would be communicated to the Animal Husbandry and Personnel Departments for potential changes in the selection scheme.

A total of 2,165 candidates have been provisionally listed for the Veterinary Officer (Animal Husbandry Department) competitive examination for 2025, while 22 candidates were disqualified for failing to answer more than 10% of the questions on the OMR sheet. Their roll numbers have been published separately on the commission’s website.

The list released is intended solely for document verification purposes and does not represent a final selection or priority list. The final list of successful candidates will be issued by the commission after document verification by the relevant department.

Candidates included in the provisional list must fill out a detailed online application form. The application link will be available from June 23 to June 29, 2026, until 11:59 PM. It is mandatory for candidates to adhere to the guidelines issued by the commission regarding online applications and document verification.

To complete the application process, candidates must log in through their SSO ID on the recruitment portal and select the option to fill out the detailed application form. After submitting the online application, candidates must print two copies of the completed form and retain them for submission along with original documents on the designated date and time for verification. Failure to appear for document verification will result in disqualification.
