The last recruitment for Home Guards in Uttar Pradesh took place in 2011 during Mayawati’s tenure. Since then, there has been no major recruitment in the Home Guard department. Although the recruitment process was initiated in 2018 under the BJP government, it was canceled due to allegations of corruption. The recruitment was conducted in Prayagraj, and the then District Commandant was suspended. No further recruitment has taken place since then.
