BPSC Cancels AEDO Exam, 32 Candidates Banned

Patna, May 3: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) examination and blacklisted the agency responsible for conducting it, M/s Sai Educare Pvt. Ltd. The agency’s bank guarantee has also been seized.

Following irregularities during the exam held from April 14 to April 21, the commission sought a response from the agency, which was found unsatisfactory. Evidence gathered during the investigation, along with complaints and FIRs, confirmed the allegations against the agency.

It was reported that the agency deployed its own personnel instead of those listed by the commission, leading to disturbances in several districts including Munger, Nalanda, and Samastipur. A total of eight FIRs were filed across six districts regarding the exam misconduct, prompting the commission to take this decisive action.

In addition to the cancellation, 32 candidates have been banned from participating in any upcoming examinations conducted by the commission. Approximately 11 lakh candidates had applied for the AEDO exam.

During the examination, district administration successfully thwarted attempts to cheat using Bluetooth and other electronic devices at various centres. The investigation revealed a conspiracy involving some anti-social elements and candidates to disrupt the exam. Consequently, police have registered FIRs against the accused candidates.

The BPSC has announced that it will soon declare new dates for the cancelled exams, advising candidates to keep an eye on the official website for updates.

The AEDO vacancies were introduced for the first time in Bihar, with the BPSC entrusted with conducting the exam. A total of 935 positions were available, attracting around 11 lakh applicants. The examination was conducted in three phases across 746 centres in all 38 districts.

Despite the serious allegations, the commission clarified that no solid evidence of question paper leaks or viral content on social media was found during the investigation. However, due to the irregularities reported and the gravity of the situation, the commission has taken stringent measures to uphold the integrity of the examination process.

The investigation continues, and the commission remains committed to ensuring fairness and transparency in future examinations.
