CJP Leaders Support Jharkhand Student Movement

Ranchi, August 11: A delegation from the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) arrived in Ranchi on August 8, 2026, to support the ongoing student movement in Jharkhand. Students have been protesting for 17 days, demanding the cancellation of the Jharkhand PSC-SSC examination, with six students currently on hunger strike. The protests are taking place at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.

CJP core committee members, National Coordinator Akshay Shinde and Mukesh, visited the site after discussing the student movement with party founder Abhijit Deepke.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka expressed solidarity with the students on Twitter, stating that the delegation led by Mukesh and Akshay Shinde would provide all possible support to the protesting students.

Shinde mentioned that CJP members who played an active role in the student movement at Jantar Mantar are also present to support the students in Ranchi. They will not leave until all demands are met.

In a virtual conversation, Deepke stated that CJP would act as an external public pressure group rather than taking political leadership of the student movement. They aim to provide logistical and moral support to the protesters.

The movement was initiated by local students, with CJP joining later as a supporting external group. However, CJP has been actively involved in national-level issues concerning examinations and education.

Deepke had previously led the Jantar Mantar movement in June-July, which resulted in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after a 36-day protest.
