Bhopal, May 23: The Madhya Pradesh government is set to revise the recruitment rules for two key agencies responsible for government job placements. The General Administration Department has prepared a draft for changes to the recruitment rules of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (ESB), inviting public suggestions until June 5.
According to the proposed rules, all government recruitments, except for those conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, will now be managed through the Employees Selection Board. These new regulations are expected to come into effect on October 1, 2026, replacing the existing rules from 2013.
The draft outlines that the recruitment process will be based on a “merit examination” and a “scorecard system.” The ESB will conduct three types of eligibility exams annually: a general eligibility test, a technical eligibility test, and a teacher eligibility test. Only candidates who achieve the minimum required marks in the eligibility exams will receive a scorecard, which can be used for applications to various government jobs.
The scorecard for the general and technical eligibility exams will remain valid until December 31 of the two years following the year of the results, while candidates who pass the teacher eligibility test will be considered eligible for life, although their scorecard will also have a limited validity for job applications.
Under the new system, candidates will not need to retake preliminary exams multiple times. A single good score will allow them to apply for multiple departmental recruitments using the same scorecard. The entire process will be conducted online, aiming to enhance transparency and simplicity in the recruitment process.
The examination pattern will include 100 questions divided into four sections for the general eligibility test, covering general knowledge, current affairs, Madhya Pradesh general knowledge and schemes, mathematics, logical reasoning, data analysis, and computer knowledge. The technical eligibility test will also consist of 100 questions, with 25 from general subjects and 75 from the relevant technical field.
Additionally, the state government has prepared new draft rules for conducting recruitment examinations by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission and is seeking public suggestions until June 5, 2026. Ajay Katesaria, Additional Secretary of the General Administration Department, stated that the “Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Examination Rules 2026” are proposed to be notified. The draft of the proposed rules is available on the department’s website gad.mp.gov.in.
Individuals, organizations, or stakeholders wishing to provide objections or suggestions regarding the proposed rules can submit their written feedback via email to [email protected] or through the link available on gad.mp.gov.in by June 5, 2026. Suggestions received after the deadline will not be considered.
